Bot Detector

The Bot Detector plugin provides internal support for detecting whether a page was loaded by a person or by an automated program, like a search engine web crawler. This is useful for plugins that collect usage data, like the Metrics Recorder plugin, so that they only count page visits from users.

Caveats

Using this plugin requires technical expertise and is aimed at web developers who are creating plugins. Please refer to the developer documentation distributed with CWIS for more information. It is available from the Developer Support section of the System Configuration page in CWIS.
