Rules

The Rules plugin allows the specification of rules based on changes to resource metadata, that will trigger email to be sent to specified users or other actions to be taken.  It is intended to be used in conjunction with the Mailer plugin to define email templates.

Use

Typical applications might include notifying content editors or reviewers when new resources have been added (set up a rule that triggers when Date of Record Creation has changed) or notifying resource submitters when a their resource becomes available for public view (Date of Record Release has changed).

Caveats

The Rules plugin doesn't do anything by itself -- it has to be used in conjunction with a template you define (via the Mailer plugin) to make something happen.
